New tower climbing anti-fall devices, saying goodbye to safety hazards in high-altitude operations

2026-03-20

Tower climbing operations are a core part of power maintenance and one of the scenarios with the highest risk of high-altitude safety. Industry data shows that high-altitude falls account for 33.03% of all power-related personal injury accidents, topping all types of accidents. Moreover, the numerous shortcomings of traditional fall prevention tools have greatly compromised the safety of tower climbers.

For a long time, traditional equipment such as foot spikes and double-hook anti-fall devices commonly used in power operation and maintenance have been cumbersome to operate, consume a lot of physical strength from workers, and have protective blind spots. Meanwhile, anti-fall ladders and rails require pre-installation by personnel climbing the tower, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and requires power outages, making it costly and difficult to maintain, thus being hard to promote on a large scale. These pain points have long troubled frontline power operation and maintenance personnel.

In response to these industry pain points, Hai Zhuo Technology has launched a new anti-fall device for climbing towers, completely breaking the limitations of traditional anti-fall models and providing comprehensive protection for the safety of tower climbing operations. The core advantage of the anti-fall device for climbing towers is that it does not require pre-installation by personnel climbing the tower and does not change the original climbing habits of workers, significantly reducing the cost of operation preparation and the threshold for operation.

The working principle of the device is simple and efficient: by carrying a fixed support bracket and safety rope with a drone, it precisely flies to the top of the tower. With the aid of a specially designed gravity self-locking mechanical mechanism and real-time video transmission, the installation and removal of the fixed support bracket can be quickly completed without the need for personnel to operate at heights, which is both efficient and safe. It is reported that the traditional manual installation of anti-fall ropes takes about 20 minutes, while this device can complete the task in just 5 minutes with the help of a drone, increasing efficiency by 75%.

One end of the safety rope is fixed to the protection bracket at the top of the tower, and the other end is firmly fixed at the bottom of the tower. Workers only need to connect the anti-fall device with the safety rope to form a complete high-altitude protection system. Even if they slip and fall, the device can instantly lock, effectively preventing fall accidents and fully ensuring the safety of workers climbing the tower.

The anti-fall device for climbing towers realizes the entire process of high-altitude anti-fall as "visualized + automated", not only solving the problems of cumbersome operation and high safety risks of traditional anti-fall tools, but also being compatible with various mainstream tower types without the need for tower modifications. The new anti-fall device for climbing towers can be widely applied in various power line tower climbing operations, significantly improving operation efficiency and strengthening the safety defense line of high-altitude operations, injecting new impetus into the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the power industry, and promoting the steady transformation of tower climbing protection from "manual prevention" to "intelligent prevention".
