At around 3:00 p.m. on March 29th, a sudden tornado triggered a railway transportation safety crisis. The fierce wind blew a color steel roof and over 30 meters of steel frame along the railway line onto the high-speed rail contact network, directly causing the suspension of operations on the Nanning-Guangzhou and Guiyang-Guangzhou high-speed railways between Guangzhou South and Foshan West stations, as well as on the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang high-speed railway between Foshan and Liwan Depot due to foreign objects hanging on the contact network. This led to significant delays and cancellations of numerous trains, severely affecting passengers' travel and the order of railway transportation. After emergency handling by maintenance personnel, by 6:35 p.m., the foreign objects on the contact network in the relevant sections of the Nanning-Guangzhou and Guiyang-Guangzhou high-speed railways had been cleared, and the equipment failure was successfully resolved, gradually restoring the normal operation of train services.

This sudden incident once again serves as a warning: whether it is power transmission lines or high-speed rail contact networks, once foreign objects are hung, it not only causes equipment failures and power outages, but also poses a risk of electric shock and other safety accidents, resulting in huge economic losses and safety hazards. Traditional methods of clearing obstacles often rely on manual high-altitude operations or power outages for maintenance, which are not only time-consuming and labor-intensive but also carry extremely high safety risks, making it difficult to deal with such sudden foreign object faults.
