When cranes operate near high-voltage power lines, even if the boom does not directly touch the cables, there remains a risk of electric shock. Therefore, throughout the entire operation, a compliant safe distance from high-voltage lines must be maintained. To address the risks associated with crane operations in proximity to live electrical lines at height, Hizhuo Technology has developed a crane proximity-to-power-line protection system that ensures electrical safety during lifting operations through comprehensive monitoring, early warning, ease of installation, and durability.

The HIZ-SD-JD Crane Proximity-to-Power-Line Protection System by Hizhuo Technology consists of two main components: a front-end detection unit and a receiving host installed in the operator’s cab. Utilizing non-contact electromagnetic induction technology, the system continuously monitors changes in the electric field strength generated by high-voltage transmission lines around the crane boom. The detection unit is equipped with a highly sensitive electric field sensor capable of operating across voltage levels from 10 kV to 500 kV. When the boom enters a pre-set safety alert zone, the system automatically triggers a tiered alarm.
The HIZ-SD-JD system features a three-level warning mechanism based on the distance between the boom and high-voltage lines—ranging from farthest to nearest—classified as safety reminder, approach warning, and danger alarm. Each level corresponds to distinct audiovisual frequencies and voice alerts, providing operators with ample time to react and avoid hazards before reaching critical conditions, thereby minimizing the risk of operational errors.
In terms of deployment, the system prioritizes on-site convenience. The front-end detection unit uses a strong magnetic base that securely attaches directly to the metal surface of the boom, requiring only additional wire reinforcement for stability. The receiving host is installed inside the cab without the need for drilling or wiring, enabling a single person to complete setup and calibration within approximately three minutes. Designed with industrial-grade components, the device operates reliably within a temperature range of -20°C to 60°C and offers dustproof, shock-resistant, and moisture-proof performance, making it suitable for harsh outdoor environments. Powered by batteries, the system provides up to 72 hours of continuous operation on a single charge, meeting requirements for both single-day and multi-day consecutive operations.
