Typhoon "Mangkhut" made a powerful landfall, bringing fierce winds and torrential rains that swept across multiple regions of Guangxi. The extreme downpours triggered various geological and power-related hazards, placing the local power grid under severe strain. In particular, continuous heavy rainfall caused a sudden line break on the 10-kilovolt Lijiang River line in Jiangshan Town, Fangcheng District, cutting off electricity supply to surrounding areas and severely disrupting daily life for residents as well as production activities in rural communities.

The emergency was an order—repair work had to begin immediately. The Jiangshan Power Supply Office of Fangcheng Electric Power Bureau, China Southern Power Grid, swiftly activated its emergency response mechanism, assembling repair teams and preparing necessary materials before rushing to the scene to restore power and carry out disaster relief operations. To minimize the impact of the typhoon on power supply, repair crews seized the brief window of calm between storms, working against the clock to inspect lines and fix faults. Main power lines were successfully restored.
Repair efforts during the typhoon were time-sensitive and grueling—challenging even by day, but especially difficult at night. Dimmed by rain and darkness, visibility was poor, and with no fixed lighting available, workers relied only on weak beams from simple flashlights, which proved inadequate for precise repairs. This not only significantly slowed progress but also posed serious safety risks. Under such harsh nighttime conditions, efficient, convenient, and reliable emergency lighting became essential to ensure smooth and effective repair operations.
